Description
I’m a product designer as well as being a photographer and I have also done a lot of graphic design plus some signwriting. So naturally it follows that I am interested in signs of all kinds. When I was in the army in the Royal Engineers and was in charge of workshops I had to paint two signs for a recruitment event at Oxford University, England. I duly painted the signs according to the instructions I was given but was reprimanded by the sergeant-major when driving into the university because the background color of the signs which were displayed on either side of the road were mainly blue when instead they should have been red. I was in big trouble until I was able to produce the work order specifying the sign colors from a senior officer but for a considerable time my face was still bright red! I thought these signs were interesting and some of them were significant to me so here we go.
